We are privileged to announce that PETAL has a new home! We have moved to a location on the third floor of the University Library that was remodeled to house our offices, a classroom area, and a computer lab. Dr. Richard Wood, Dean of University Libraries, and Doug Wilcox, Assistant Dean, worked tirelessly to make sure everything turned out just right, and the project was generously funded by Dr. Covey.

The new PETAL space is a large, open, room, and it is our hope that, as PETAL is here to serve the USA faculty, our walls will soon be covered by artwork produced by members of the USA faculty. We already have lovely works by Kate Seawell (Visual Arts) and Scott Carter (Mathematics/Statistics), and we will soon have some of the excellent photography of John Strange (Professional Studies/Education) and Julio Turrens (Allied Health).

The main classroom area accommodates up to twenty-five people and has the flexibility for several different seating configurations. The room is equipped with a 52" LCD display that works with a laptop for PowerPoint or Internet instruction, as well as a DVD/VHS player and a videoconferencing system. The classroom area also has a place for serving refreshments for attendees.

The computer lab area has six computer workstations with Adobe Creative Suite 3 (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, InDesign, Flash, etc.) and Microsoft Office 2007 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). The computers are arranged in a workshop configuration, and there is an instructor's station equipped with another 52" LCD display. These computers are available for faculty, administrators, and graduate assistants.

The space also has a lounge area that contains the PETAL Collection, which is a selection of books on a variety of teaching and learning topics. The new area also contains offices for the PETAL staff.

All regular PETAL activities (i.e., Brown Bag Lunches, Technology Workshops, and New Faculty Seminars) will be held in this new space. We hope to see you at one of our events soon!
